hi Tasha Log readers! My first week of classes has concluded, and I’ve reached the weekend. Most of my classes are pretty tame but they do require a lot of work! Let me tell you all about my week.
I started class on Monday the 8th, and I had two studio classes in one day! (those are the project classes, like drawing/ painting) I started with my Drawing II course, and I have lots of mixed feelings. My Prof is a very silly old man, he’s incredibly passionate about Drawing and really tries to push for us to participate -which I do- but he is a bit scatter-brained. My classmates seem okay, even after the two classes I’ve had this week, we weren’t able to talk to each other. Also the SCAD busses make me super motion sick. You can see my still life for my drawing project down here. I purposefully tried to keep it simple LOL.

Later in the evening is my Color Theory class. It starts at 5pm, which means I can take a nap in between my classes!! (which I do.) Color theory is sorta my jam. I’m naturally really good at understanding how colors interact with each other. Also, my Prof, Prof Poofball is super lively and has lots of funny experiences.
My Prof reminds me of a teacher I had in high school named Banyas. However, Banyas was filled with hatred- Prof Poofball is the complete opposite. You’re probably thinking: “that makes no sense at all!” and I’m inclined to agree. But, they’re both very passionate and they talk similarly. Prof Poofball is super positive, it totally keeps my attention in class! I’ve also made a few friends in this class, and I talk with them outside of class.
My last class is Art history :^( there’s really not much to say about it. My Prof is a Dr, so I’ll refer to her as Doctor. Doctor likes to talk a lot, and everyone talks super smart in this class. it makes me a little nervous to say something because I talk so informal. Although, I think my informal demeanor makes me more approachable- which I need.

In this class, I sit by the window and I love my view. I doodle a lot in this class to stay focused but I just bought a bunch of redbulls >:). But, this class seems relatively easy so I’m not too stressed about it. It’s just at such an awkward time. 2pm. It’s too early to take a nap at 12, and its too late to take a nap at 5pm when i get back to the dorm. But it’s a single class day. which means it’s not so bad. but the bus to Arnold Hall? MISERABLE. i genuinely hate this building and the bus. my other two classes are at Wailin Hall, which is a retired elementary school- and i love it.
Besides my classes, I’ve hung out with my roommates a TON. It’s really nice when you’re in college because everyone is so relaxed and on the same page. I’m so much more social now because I feel like i have more of an opportunity to be- and its a nice change. So many things have changed since I left Cary. The way I make my bed, the food I eat, my laundry schedule. Sometimes the big changes are easy but the smaller ones remind you that you’re not at home. Not only has my lifestyle changed, I just miss how used to Cary I am. Like, I know where there’s three different walmarts, three chick-fil-a’s, two malls, and so much more. I need to use my GPS all the time now.
I’m happy for some of these changes, like better education and much more motivated peers, but I miss how comfortable home is.
I also miss talking to the people back home.
Anyways, that’s all i can fit into one post, but I have a bunch of photos from the week! enjoy :]
here’s my song for today!
-Tasha, Signing off!
